Discover one of Handel's most unjustly‐neglected operas, as 'Rodelinda' makes its first appearance at Barcelona's elegant Gran Teatre del Liceu. This revival of Claus Guth's exciting 2017 production features acclaimed countertenor Bejun Mehta and fast‐rising star soprano Lisette Oropesa, under the baton of beloved maestro Josep Pons.
Barcelona opens its doors to celebrate its unique artistic and cultural heritage in the annual Barcelona Obertura spring festival. Bringing together the city’s three international stages – the internationally‐renowned opera house Gran Teatre del Liceu, the exquisite art nouveau Palau de la Música Catalana, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and L’Auditori, Barcelona’s modern concert hall, acclaimed for its exceptional acoustic – the festival presents some of the greatest names in classical music, underlining Barcelona’s role as the cultural hub of the Mediterranean.
