Bachianas

イベント情報

The renown Violoncellist Rudi Leopold and his Cello‐Ensemble invite you to a musical journey for six to twelve cellos from Bach to Villa‐Lobos with stopovers at Schubert, Wagner, Debussy, Ravel and de Falla.

'Not Bach (german translation for stream), but Sea should be his name!' In spite of Beethoven's appreciative metaphor, it was rivers that inspired cellist Rudi Leopold to his twelve cello homage to Bach. In the Amazon, Heitor Villa‐Lobos researched the effect on the indigenous Brazilian people of pieces by Bach played on cello. On the river Scheltd, a swan led the knight Lohengrin to Brabant. In the Seine, Debussy discovered a submerged Cathedral.
