Chiesa di S. Paolo entro le Mura
La Chiesa di San Paolo tra le Mura" è la prima chiesa non cattolica costruita a Roma dopo l'unità d'Italia. Più precisamente, fu costruita tra il 1873 e il 1880 come basilica anglicana nel quartiere di Castro Pretorio, in Via Nazionale, Roma. Il suo stile artistico è romanico-gotico e la sua facciata esterna è caratterizzata dall'alternanza di mattoni rossi e calcarei. L'interno presenta una dettagliata raffigurazione della vita di San Paolo e dell'Apocalisse. Queste opere si trovano rispettivamente sulle tre navate con vetrate e sui meravigliosi mosaici. Inoltre, alcune famose figure ottocentesche possono essere identificate come rappresentanti alcuni padri della chiesa nei mosaici elaborati. Si tratta di Abraham Lincoln, Joseph Garibaldi e del generale Grant (protagonista della guerra di secessione americana). In più, in questa location sono ospitati numerosi e suggestivi eventi classici, come le rappresentazioni di opere popolari come La Traviata.

Très beau concert dans une église magnifique comme toutes celles de Rome. Attention pour l'adresse de l'église. Il faut aller à l'église San Paolo entro les murs. Quand on ne connaît pas encore bien Rome, on peut se perdre car il y a 2 églises San Paolo. 1 vers le métro pyramide et l'autre vers le métro république. Celle du concert est au métro république.

I loved the music and everything was wonderful, the singers were very talented and the accompanying musicians were as well … The only minor drawbacks were the venue was a little warm, which didn’t bother me too much but I noticed a couple people leave halfway through. And the only other minor issue was the acoustics, at times it was hard to hear the singer over the instruments but overall I loved it!

Performers 5/5: wonderful. The evening was however marred by the continual photographing / videoing / texting by several audience members whilst staff (who'd told us at the outset that such activities were strictly prohibited) stood idly by.
