Russian Ballet Concert: Symphony Orchestra of Barcelona

Lo spettacolo

A unique opportunity to enjoy at the Auditori of Barcelona, in a single, concert four great works that Diaghilev's famous Russian Ballet company brought to the stage between 1909 and 1929.

In keeping with the romantic style are the Polovtsian Dances by Aleksandr Borodin and Carnaval by Robert Schumann, originally conceived for piano and transcribed for orchestra by different composers, including Glazunov, Rimsky‐Korsakov and Ravel. Of a more avant‐garde tone is Stravinsky's Le Chant du Rossignol, a symphonic poem with reminiscences of the East and swirling rhythms, and Ravel's La Valse, a choreographic poem in which the composer makes a critique of western society through a masterful satire on the traditional Viennese waltz.

Experience this richly moving programme at the Auditori in Barcelona.
