Kodály String Quartet: Budapest Spring Festival

The internationally acclaimed Kodály String Quartet presents a program of late Romantic music, with compositions by Brahms, Dohnányi and Wagner at the Budapest Music Center.

While the latter composer’s oeuvre includes no lasting chamber pieces, a rare transcription has warranted his inclusion in the program. The accompaniment for the Wesendonck songs, which can be considered a study for Tristan and Isolde, will now be heard in a string quartet arrangement.
