Iolanta / Persephone
Lo spettacolo
Explore themes of transfiguration and rebirth in two very different works: the opera of Tchaikovsky and Stravinsky's musical melodrama.
Teodor Currentzis and Peter Sellars combine these two works in an exploration of dark and light, of innocence and experience, of love fulfilled and deprived. Ekaterina Scherbachenko sings Tchaikovsky's blind heroine, while celebrated French actress Dominique Blanc embodies Persephone.
Performed in Russian/French, with French surtitles
