Haydn, The Seven Last Words of Christ on the Cross: St. Stephen's Cathedral

During the Holy Week, Joseph Haydn's 'The Seven Last Words of Christ on the Cross' will be performed at St. Stephen's Cathedral (Stephansdom) in the heart of Vienna. The cathedral is a suitable venue for this performance, as Haydn was in close connection with the Stephansdom: the great Austrian composer sang here as a choir boy for nine years and it was in the cathedral that he married his wife Aloysia.
