Studiosi, scrittori, psicologi ed educatori hanno già esaminato in modo approfondito il rapporto tra Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart e suo padre Leopold. Tuttavia, il fatto che Wolferl stesso avesse due figli, Carl Thomas e Franz Xaver, viene spesso trascurato. Quest'ultimo nacque nell'anno della morte del padre e decise anch'egli di intraprendere la carriera musicale. Allievo di Antonio Salieri e Johann Nepomuk Hummel, divenne ben presto un pianista rispettato che si esibì in tutta Europa e pubblicò anche composizioni proprie, tra cui due concerti per pianoforte e una serie di Lieder.

L'Orchestra Barocca di Friburgo si dedica al rapporto musicale tra Wolfgang Amadeus e Franz Xaver Mozart – come potrebbe essere altrimenti – insieme a Christoph e Julian Prégardien. I due cantanti non sono solo considerati eccellenti interpreti di Mozart, ma anche un duo padre‐figlio ben affiatato. Kristian Bezuidenhout si unisce a loro come solista, promettendo una serata concertistica emozionante, divertente e superbamente eseguita.

Orchestra: Freiburger Barockorchester

Freiburger Barockorchester (Freiburg Baroque Orchestra) is an orchestra originally founded 'to enliven the world of Baroque music with new sounds.' The orchestra, based in Freiburg, Germany now also performs works by later composers such as Beethoven, Schubert and Weber as well as contemporary music. They play small group chamber music as well as symphonies for large orchestras.

The Freiburg Baroque Orchestra gave its first concert in 1987 and began touring abroad with a performance in Amsterdam in 1989 and came to America first in 1995. Today, half of the orchestra's concerts are performed abroad. The musicians chose Gottfried von der Goltz and Petra Müllejans from among their own members as musical directors. (Both von der Goltz and Müllejans are violinists.) The orchestra performs one‐quarter of its concerts under guest conductors, such as Ivor Bolton, René Jacobs, Philippe Herreweghe or Trevor Pinnock.
