Famous conductor Kazushi Ono opens the new season at the Auditori Barcelona with Tchaikovsky's challenging Violin Concerto and Beethoven's 'Heroic' symphony.

In his Violin Concerto, Tchaikovsky managed to combine his more European style with the tradition of Russian compositions. Violinist Julian Rachlin takes on this very complex work. The highlight of the evening will be Beethoven's famous symphony, which is said to have saved him from sinking into depression caused by his advancing deafness.
