Winter Festival: Contemporary Explorations

A propos du spectacle

In this concert series, the Spitalfields Winter Festival invites the three contemporary musician Rhodri Davies, Craig Ogden and Anton Lukoszevieze.

Rhodri Davies (16 December 2008): Hear the harp as you’ve never heard it before! Harnessing and stretching the expressive capabilities of the instrument to the full. Rhodri Davies performs works by 1960s pioneers and younger composer including his own piece Cresis, featuring instant composition and improvisation.

Craig Ogden (18 December 2008): One of the worlds most acclaimed guitarists Craig Ogden explores three astounding pieces for solo guitar. The evening ends with music from one of our greatest British composers: Michael Tippett’s shimmering piece, Blue Guitar.

Anton Lukoszevieze (6 January 2009): Anton Luzoszevieze is unique in the UK as a proponent of the Bach‐Bogen (curved bow) which enables the cellist to play three or four notes simultaneously. His programme features works by composers which have written works exploring the possibilities of the bow.
