The Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina was created in 1981 by the conductor and director of the orchestra, Giuseppe Lanzetta. It consists of about 40 musicians, who played until today about 1300 concerts. The repertoire consists of sinfonic works and of chamber music. The international criticism calls the Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina "one of the best chamber orchestras of Europe". Within just a few years the Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina succeeded in drawing the attention of the public in Italy and abroad. One reason for this are the numerous successful appearances in Italy for the most important institutions of classical music. Another reason are the tours abroad, which led the Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina for example to Brazil, Mexico, the United States, Spain, Malta, Portugal, Slovenia, Poland and Germany. Many renowned soloists played already together with the orchestra, among them Augusto Vismara, Christiane Edinger, Jorge Demus, Eduard Brunner, Andreas Blau, Bruno Canino, Daniele Damiano, Cristiano Rossi, Vincenzo Mariozzi, Umberto Clerici, Andrea Nannoni, Filippo Maria Bressan, the choir of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and the choir Athestis. Since 1985 the Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina is financed partly by the Italian ministry for Culture and by the Assessorato for urban culture of the province Florence and the region Tuscany. Giuseppe Lanzetta directed already numerous renowned orchestras world‐wide, among them the Berliner Symphoniker in the large hall of the Philharmonie Berlin.

Chef d'orchestre: Nicolo’ Jacopo Suppa
Piano: Antonio Di Cristofaro

I thoroughly enjoyed this concert while vacationing in Florence. Although the hall was very hot (I felt bad for the musicians in long sleeves!), the music was uplifting and the entire experience was positive and fun. The pianist was incredible and conductor, excellent. Very glad I booked the tickets and dragged my husband, who is not a classical music follower like I am. But even he enjoyed, a lot!
