The serenata "Sacrificio a Venere", by Giovanni Battista Bononcini, was composed for Johann Wenzel, Count of Gallas, imperial ambassador to the Holy See in Rome. First staged on August 28, 1714,, the modern world‐premiere will mark the 300‐year anniversary, on the festival stage in the Clam‐Gallas Palace in Prague.
