Orchester:	Orchestre National de Lille Founded in 1976 on the initiative of Jean‐Claude Casadesus and the Regional Council for the Nord / Pas‐de‐Calais and with government support, the Orchestre National de Lille assumes an ambitious artistic programme aiming at the widest possible audience, performing a symphonic repertoire, giving prominence to contemporary work, and promoting young talent, cultural activities and educational projects. An outstanding ambassador for its region and the French culture across four continents and thirty countries, the orchestra has established itself as one of the leading orchestras in France, and is regularly featured in broadcasts on radio and television, paying special attention to releases of new works.
Violine:	Esther Yoo Esther Yoo started out on her way to the top international concert halls at the age of 4 when she began to study the violin. Since the age of 6 she has lived in Belgium, where she graduated from the prestigious Brussels International School of Music. She continued in Munich and at present is completing her studies at the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Brussels. She became the focus of world attention particularly after winning at 16 third prize in the prestigious Jean Sibelius Violin Competition, being the youngest prize winner in the history of that event. At 19 she has to her credit a whole cluster of solo concerts and performances with world‐famous orchestras including the Finnish Radio Orchestra, the Helsinki and Seoul Philharmonics, the Scottish BBC Orchestra, and the Czech Chamber Orchestra of Czech Virtuosi in many international concert halls including the Royal Albert Hall and Carnegie Weill Recital Hall in New York. Critics have admired in particular her perfect intonation, her virtuostic technique, and her enormous musicality.

Concertgebouw

Das Concertgebouw in Amsterdam wurde nach einer öffentlichen Kampagne zur Finanzierung einer neuen Philharmonie gebaut. Der großartige neoklassische Konzertsaal mit einer symbolischen Apollon-Lyra wurde 1888 eröffnet. Ende des 20. Jahrhunderts wurde das Concertgebouw renoviert, um die Akustik zu verbessern und mehr Platz für die Besucher zu schaffen. Die prächtige Orgel wurde nach fast einem Jahrhundert Dienstzeit ebenfalls restauriert und modernisiert. Das Concertgebouw präsentiert jährlich rund 600 Veranstaltungen, von großen symphonischen Auftritten bis hin zu Jazz- und Popkonzerten. Die günstige Lage am wunderschönen Museumsplatz mit dem Rijksmuseum und dem Van Gogh-Museum in unmittelbarer Nähe bietet jedem das Richtige für seinen Geschmack in einem der schönsten Konzertsäle der Welt!

Johannes Brahms

Johannes Brahms war ein deutscher Komponist und Pianist des 19. Jahrhunderts, dessen Einfluss auf die Musik der Romantik und darüber hinaus enorm war. Sein Ruf als Komponist, der für Stimme, Klavier, Symphonieorchester, Kammerensembles und Chor schreibt, verbindet ihn mit Beethoven und Bach als einem der drei 'großen Bs" der Musik. Brahms arbeitete eng mit führenden Künstlern wie Clara Schumann und Joseph Joachim zusammen, so dass viele seiner Werke wegen ihres kompromisslosen Perfektionismus und ihrer üppigen Melodien zum Kernstück des modernen Repertoires wurden.
