In the concert "Viennese Music – Viennese Masters" the Vienna Symphony Orchestra will perform Gottfried von Einem's "Cappriccio, Op. 2",
Wolfgang A. Mozart's "Symphony in C Major, KV 425, Linz” and Johannes Brahm's "Symphony No. 2" under the baton of Hans Graf.
The Austrian musical threads intertwine in Vienna where both symphonies, imbued with serene freedom, were premiered; the first was written on the way to Vienna, where Mozart escaped the influence of Salzburg, and the second during Brahms’ idyllic holidays. Even if composed in times of trouble, serenity is also the prevailing feature of the work by Gottfried von Einem.
