The Bargemix Series presents "Classical‐Jazz Connections" with pianist Stuart Isacoff.

Creating “marriages” between works plucked from the classical and jazz traditions, pianist Stuart Isacoff uses the art of improvisation to probe the threads that connect composers living centuries and continents apart. The results are often exhilarating, beautiful and “ear” opening. Pairings include Scriabin with Harold Arlen, Messiaen with Wayne Shorter, Scarlatti with Jerome Kern, Mompou with Chick Corea, James Hook with Prof. Longhair, Schubert with Samuel Ward, and more.

Bargemusic presents chamber music in an unlikely and startlingly beautiful venue—a floating barge at the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge. Both established and emerging musicians perform at Bargemusic on a small stage with the dramatic backdrop of the East River and lower Manhattan skyline.
