Zelmira, Gioachino Rossini: Théâtre des Champs‐Elysées
О событии
Delight in Rossini's dedication to 'the principle of pleasure’ as vocal fireworks and orchestral subtlety marry in this undeservedly‐neglected work.
Whether writing for heroes or villains — of which there are plenty in this Classical plot — elegance and virtuosity are the distinguishing characteristics of any Rossini opera, and nowhere more so than in the works he wrote for his wife, Isabella Colbran. Patrizia Ciofi takes on this mantle, leading a cast generously endowed with both attributes, in this concert performance.
Concert in Italian, with French surtitles.
