Wang, Honeck & Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra: Grafenegg Festival

О событии

The second concert of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra under its chief conductor Manfred Honeck leads you from Grafenegg to Russia. The young virtuoso pianist Yuja Wang will perform Tchaikovsky's famous Piano Concerto No. 1. Australian composer Brett Dean remembers the first cosmonaut who gave his life for the Soviet State to celebrate Lenin's birthday in 'Komarov's Fall', and Shostakovich expresses his criticism of the powerful regime in his Symphony No. 5.

The Grafenegg Festival presents a top‐class program of concerts with renowned orchestras, conductors and international star‐soloists. This year, enjoy a series of concerts including musical journeys to South America, swing music, highlights of the romantic period and unforgettable fireworks. On mild summer evenings, performances are in the open; in poor weather, the Auditorium opens its doors.
