Tomomi Adachi, MaerzMusik 2012
О событии
MaerzMusik presents Tomomi Adachi, Japanese composer and performer in experimental music, improvisation, poetry, theatre, visual arts, and community art.
MaerzMusik is the annual Festival of Contemporary Music organised by the Berliner Festspiele. Established artists and young newcomers from all over the world come to Berlin each March to present a full programme with many world premieres and new productions, many of which are commissioned by MaerzMusik.
MaerzMusik is a direct reaction to new relations between sound and society today. The festival for contemporary music transcends the borders between tradition and innovation. With its broad range of orchestral and chamber music, innovative musical theatre, experimental works and media art it provides a fascinating and rich panorama of contemporary music.
Japanese composer and performer Tomomi Adachi not only works in the field of experimental music, but also in improvisation, poetry, theatre, visual arts and community art. MaerzMusik presents a wide spectrum of his activities: performances for the body and electronics which use sensory instruments and systems that he developed and built himself, conceptual compositions for amateur players and professional instrumentalists, as well as virtuoso vocalist interpretations of selected works by John Cage and the Dadaist Hugo Ball.
Tomomi Adachi’s works are humorous and sometimes violent. Adachi concentrates on visual elements in music and tensions between conceptual ideas and physical existence.
