Requiem on the Anniverary of Mozart's Death: Concert in Salzburg

Mozart's Requiem (KV 626) will be performed at the Baroque 'Kollegien Kirche' in Salzburg — Mozart's city of birth.

Mozart was anonymously commissioned to write a Requiem Mass in the summer of 1791, and he composed the piece during his progressing illness in the last months of his life. He was unable to complete the great work by the time of his death, December 5th, 1791. Mozart’s former pupil Franz Xaver Süssmayr completed the Requiem, relying on his master’s last oral instructions and written notes.
