When Puccini saw the play Madame Butterfly in London in 1900 he fll in love with the tragic Japanese heroine, even though he could barely understand a word of English. The music he then wrote for his own Madama Butterfly has stolen hearts worldwide. The Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and Radio Choir will perform under the baton of Karel Mark Chichon at the Concertgebouw.
