Magyar Motifs: Hungarian Music in Budapest
О событии
The evening’s programme embraces Hungarian folk music and adaptations of folk songs alongside contemporary compositions and improvisations played on both modern and traditional instruments.
The performers invite their audience on an unusual musical adventure, journeying back from Hungarian contemporary music to interpretation of its origins in folk song, on through pure folk music, and then digressing into folk‐inspired improvisation. This back and forth through musical genres is made possible through the combined skills of performers who represent fundamentally different styles. The concert has been brought to the stage by flautist Márk Fülep.
Mihály Borbély – saxophone, clarinet, tárogató, kaval, double flute, tilinkó
Márk Fülep – flute (Yamaha), alto flute, piccolo, tilinkó, long flute, Miklós Lukács – cimbalom
