Kroumata Ensemble: Vilnius Festival 2011
О событии
Enjoy the performance of the Swedish ensemble Kroumata at the Vilnius Festival 2011.
Over thirty years since its formation, Sweden’s leading percussion ensemble Kroumata has achieved true mastery in deciphering the spirit of our time in modern music for percussion. Kroumata’s interpretations are oftentimes regarded as standards of excellence – be it a premiere of an opus dedicated to the ensemble, or a well‐known work considered as new classical music. This cult group, internationally titled as one of the leaders in the field, has given over 220 world premieres, toured 40 countries, recorded twenty CDs, appeared as a soloist‐ensemble with distinguished symphony orchestras (such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Iceland Symphony Orchestra and Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra), gave sold‐out recitals at major venues like the Lincoln Center in New York and the Berliner Philharmonie. The unequalled dynamism and energy of Kroumata’s performances have dazzled audiences all over the world. The unique experience of a Kroumata concert appeals to the audiences of all ages and backgrounds. “You will not hear better percussion playing anywhere”, wrote the San Francisco Chronicle. Let’s take this opinion for granted and experience the phenomenon of a perfect beat.
Founded in 1997, the annual Vilnius Festival is one of the most prestigious, solid and versatile musical events in Lithuania. With primary interest in presenting classical music, performed by the established soloists, ensembles and symphony orchestras from all over the world, it also promotes contemporary Lithuanian music by commissioning new large‐scale works, and offers a platform for jazz and musical theatre.
