Gavrilov, Zukernik & Pannon Philharmonic Orchestra: New Year's Concert

Ring in the new year with festive works by Smetana, Tchaikovsky, Dovrak, Brahms, and Strauss in Geneva. Michael Zukernik will lead the Pannon Philharmonic Orchestra. Soloist of the evening is the renowned pianist Andrei Gavrilov.

At the young age of 18, Russian pianist Andrei Gavrilov won the prestigious Tchaikovsky Competition. A recording contract with Deutsche Grammophon, and an international career followed. Graviolov's interpretations are extremely moving, his theatrics on stage are overwhelming — a showman of the highest quality.

'The Moldau' by Bedrich Smetana will open the New Year's concert. Another highlight is the Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 1 by Tchaikovsky. The program will conclude with Dvorak's beloved Symphony No. 9 and festive works by Brahms and J. Strauss.
