Dmitry Masleev at Carnegie Hall
О событии
Witness the New York recital debut of a star in the making. Winner of the 2015 Tchaikovsky Competition, Masleev plays a program that spans the centuries, from Scarlatti to Prokofiev.
Although the music of his homeland has a powerful presence, with a cornucopia of Rachmaninoff, and Prokofiev's intense and complex Second Sonata, this is by no means the full range of Masleev's gifts. The emotion of Beethoven's 'Les Adieux' Sonata No. 26, and the rhythmic precision of Scarlatti give way to Liszt's fiendishly virtuosic Totentanz or 'Dance of the Dead' to present a portrait of a young pianist on the verge of greatness.
