Beethoven & Shostakovich: Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra
О событии
Enjoy a magnificent programe with works by Beethoven and Shostakovich with two rising stars: Simone Lamsma (violin) and the RLPO under the baton of Alexander Shelley.
Beethoven’s Eighth Symphony might not be his longest, but it packs a terrific punch. It’s a dangerously funny musical firecracker, and it’s the explosive climax of this latest instalment in the Essential Beethoven series, which pairs the tense drama of Beethoven’s Coriolan Overture with one of twentieth‐century music’s great political thrillers: Shostakovich’s searing First Violin Concerto. Dutch violinist Simone Lamsma and British conductor Alexander Shelley are both rising stars of the concert scene, and they bring total commitment to everything they perform. Expect passion, expect power – and after the interval, expect something completely different, in Shostakovich’s delightfully daft Second Ballet Suite. Serious fun.
