Andrew Lloyd Webber: Requiem

О событии

Arias from operas and Andrew Lloyd Webber's “Requiem” will be performed by the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra and soloists in this symphony concert.

This concert at the Vilnius Congress Concert Hall is dedicated to the beauty of voice and melody. However, the most important is the occasion to listen to the Lithuanian singers who live far from home.

The soprano, a graduate of the London  Royal music Academy, Lauryna Bendžiūnaitė, is not only a wonderful singer, but also a very talented actress with a large repertoire – Sophie (Massenet’s “Werther”), Joana (Sondheim’s “Sweeny Todd: Demon Barber of Fleet Street”, title part in Handel’s “Semele”, Kseniya (Musorgsky’s “Boris Godunov”), Nerina (Haydn’s “La fedelta premiata”), Musetta (Leoncavallo “La boheme”) and others. She earned critical acclaim in 2010 for her impressive performance with the Bohemians Group and the Silence Family, a group of electronic and dance music, in the electronic opera‐fantasy “XYZ”. Critics say that Bendžiūnaitė’s lively and emotional personality is as impressive as the roles the performs.

Webber’s “Requiem” written in 1984 with the most beautiful arias composed for his wife Sarah Brightman, will reveal the new colours of her beautiful soprano.
