Chamber Music of the Konzerthausorchester: Mozart, Mendelssohn, Grieg

О событии

Indulge with the Konzerthaus Chamber Orchestra and the violinist Sayako Kusaka in masterpieces by Mozart, Mendelssohn and Grieg.

'Divertimento' means 'fun' in Italian, and pieces with this title were meant for entertainment. Mozart's work has all the beauty and depth that one appreciates about the composer, despite its light‐footedness.
At the age of 13, Mendelssohn was already a piano virtuoso, studied composition and wrote the never published D minor concerto for one of his teachers. In 1951 Yehudi Menuhin found the manuscript and performed the concerto.
At the concert finale, the chamber music version of the only surviving quartet by Edvard Grieg is heard, which from the very beginning enjoyed great success and recognition.
