Mahler's Resurrection: Barcelona Symphony Orchestra

Sobre o Evento

About 100 musicians in the orchestra and many others in the choir perform Mahler's Second Symphony at the Auditori, in Barcelona.

Soprano Camilla Tilling and mezzo‐soprano Gerhild Romberger join Madrigal Choir, Lieder Càmera Choir and Barcelona Symphony and Catalonia National Orchestra in an outstanding concert.

Mahler famous said: "For me, writing a symphony is to build a world with all the technical means at my disposal. The symphony must be like the world, it must embrace everything," and so it is with this in mind that so many musicians come together in one place to performs his works.

When he completed his second symphony, he wrote to a friend: "It is the most important thing I have done." He was not mistaken: the "Resurrection" has become a major work in the symphonic repertoire.
