Musica a Palazzo: La Traviata
Veneza, Palacio Barbarigo‐Minotto — Tiepolo/Alcova

- Giuseppe Verdi – La Traviata
Palazzo Barbarigo-Minotto
Palazzo Barbarigo-Minotto was built around the fifteenth century as a noble palace overlooking the Grand Canal in Venice. Embellished with beautiful works by famous artists of the eighteenth century, perfectly preserved works by Francesco Fontebasso, Giambattista Tiepolo, Girolamo Mingozzi and the stucco artist Tencalla can still be viewed by admirers and connoisseurs. Originally two separate palaces, the building is now composed of three staterooms facing the Grand Canal and another three facing the Rio Zaguri. The interior includes a 17th century chapel with a Louis XIV-style floor made of elm wood, with inlays of olive root marquetry. Doors in the same style are banded with walnut and have bronze handles in a vine leaf shape, and floors in the staterooms combine terrazzo and Ventian pastellone techniques. This noble Venetian building hosts exciting opera performances during the year - Verdi's 'La Traviata' for example - often setting each scene in a different stateroom.
Giuseppe Verdi
Giuseppe Verdi was an Italian opera composer. From a young age, he developed a musical education with the help of a patron and soon dominated the Italian opera. In fact by his 30s, he became one of the most influential opera composer all over the classical scene. His most famous operas are Il Trovatore, Rigoletto and La Traviata. Furthermore, he was able to establish himself as a landowner with the income from his successful operas and focus on his private life. However, he soon returned to the scene with his new popular work Aida (1871), and three masterpieces: Otello, Requiem and Falstaff.

- Mel W, USAout 2025This was an absolutely amazing experience. The singing was first‐rate by ANY standards. The instrumentals were fantastic and added so much to the performance. Also got to stand on balcony overlooking Grand Canal. A memorable evening--even if a little hard to find (printed address wasn't helpful; need directions). Worth every penny.

- Diane S, USAjul 2025We choose the opera for the setting and the experience of an intimate opera with reduced orchestra and cast. The cuts to the score created a seamless and cohesive story. The songs were excellent as was the trio accompaniment. The audience was limited to about 40 people and the acts were each performed in a different salon..Bravi tutti!

- Alice V, Belgiquejan 2019Splendide.
- OZAROWSKA D, Polandjan 2019Beautiful scenery of the palace but the performance and arrangement of the performance is average. Such antique interior should fulfill the performance of more high standards.
- Jean‐Michel A, Francedez 2018Great performance! The singers were top shelf as well as musicians. Being good actors in a gorgeous palace the entire opera was so faithful to the livret and the era of Verdi. My wife and I delighted this time off lyric episode

- Tamara S, Österreichnov 2018This event is absolutely stunning and a brilliant way to dive into the beauty of Venice.
- Michael D.,dez 2012This was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. Impressive. I do have one complaint, and that is the seating. It appears the company is trying to sell as many tickets for one show as possible, which creates very uncomfortable seating. Perhaps selling about 15 less tickets might make it a little more bearable. Great show!
- Alina C.,out 2012Kept guests waiting in line on stairs, collected private information under wrong pretext. The pallazo in disrepair and poor acoustics, poor air quality, stuffy. The main performer (Traviatta) was charged after the first act. Except for the replacement female performer the two male performers mediocre. The costumes worn by performers did not reflect the times of the opera. Very disappointing for the high price charged.
- Brenda H., United Statesout 2012Excellent. We cannot wait until we can return for another performance.
- STACEY K P., United Statesset 2012BEAUTIFUL!! Highlight of entire trip to Italy!

- Carlos R., Germanyjun 2012Ausgezeichnet. Die Sänger waren sehr gut. Rahmen und Ausführung auch positiv.
- KENNETH D., United Kingdomjun 2012First rate concert.
- JEAN PÏERRE L., Franceabr 2012Interprétation d'excellent niveau. Excellent accueil
- Jean L., Belgiumabr 2012we enjoyed our evening very much

- Alex L., United Kingdomout 2011A wonderfully intimate experience in a beautiful setting that made our Venetian experience.
- Penelope P., United Kingdomset 2011excellent
