Tomatito: Flamenco at the Palace of Arts Budapest

Sobre o Evento

It's thought that flamenco arrived in 15th century Spain, carried by gypsies who adopted a nomadic lifestyle. Pain, suffering, and ecstasy come to life in true flamenco music, and Tomatito paves the way as one of the greatest figures performing contemporary flamenco music.

Tomatito comes from a great line of authentic flamenco guitarists, and has traveled the world extensively in his long and impressive musical career. In the course of his solo work, Tomatito has worked with the most popular flamenco singers – such as Duquende and Potito – and stars of Latin jazz, while making two albums with the pianist Michel Camilo. He has also composed for film and theatre, among them for Tony Gatlif’s Vengo, for which he won a César Award; in addition, he holds two Latin Grammy Awards for the albums Aguadulce and Sonanta Suite.
