The Labèque Sisters: Minimalist Beginnings, Cité de la Musique
Sobre o Evento
The idea for these concerts came about in 2011 when the Kings Palace Festival in London asked the Labèque sisters to help celebrate 50 years of minimalism.
But the plan isn't simply to retrace the history of a musical style; it is also to demonstrate how minimalism has insinuated itself into avant‐garde rock and electronic music -- for instance, Aphex Twin and Sonic Youth -- to the point of melting down the boundaries between the genres. Investigate the conceptual beginnings of minimalism with this appealing program.
The pianists will be joined by:
Nicolas Tescari, keyboards
David Chalmin, electric guitar
Massimo Pupillo, bass guitar
Raphaël Séguinier, percussion
