Emotional, passionate but also oppressive music is at the centre of the opening concert for this season.
In Stravinsky's "History of a Soldier" music and text don't seem to be connected. There is an enormous power in the Jazz elements of the work and a broad musical expectation in the instrumentalist parts which remains mainly unfulfilled.
Grigori Frid's "The diary of Anne Frank" on the other hand is very specific. Anne's diary was used almost word for word and it creates Anne's life in 21 short pictures.
