Romances: Veronika Dzhioeva & Alexandre Tharaud at Philharmonie de Paris
Sobre o Evento
Abandon yourself to the charms of the delightful Tharaud as he plays Chopin's Fantaisie op.49, and accompanies Russian soprano Veronika Dzhioeva in songs by Rachmaninov.
Among the most recognised French pianists of his generation, Tharaud plays one of Chopin's longest and most demanding works, before taking over the role of accompanist. Composed a year after the Second Symphony, the Twelve Romances, Op. 21 contains several of Rachmaninov's best known and most beloved songs, including the exquisite miniature Zdyes' harasho or 'How fair this spot'. Guest soloist at the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theatres, Dzhioeva is beginning to be recognised beyond her native shores after recent appearances with Mariss Jansons.
