Nahon, Ars Nova ensemble instrumental & Contet: Bernard Cavanna

Sobre o Evento

Karl Koop, the grandfather of Bernard Cavanna, was a prisoner of war in 1918. The Red Cross gave him an accordion. Perhaps more than the concert accordion taught at the conservatory at the time, it was this popular instrument that the composer chose to place at the front of the orchestra in his Karl Koop Concerto.

À l’agité du bocal (To the Nutcase) is a corrosive response that Céline addressed to Sartre in 1947 when the latter accused him of having been paid by the Nazis. The text’s foul language is quite extreme. Cavanna has decided, with his habitual humor, to “amplify its excesses”.
