Miah Persson, Florian Boesch, Malcolm Martineau at Carnegie Hall
Sobre o Evento
Allow yourself to be swept up in long melodic lines and Romantic ideals of nature, love, and loss. World‐renowned as a collaborative pianist, Malcolm Martineau joins soprano Miah Persson and baritone Florian Besch for an all‐Schumann program.
Drawing heavily on the works of Schumann's annus mirabilis — 1840, during which he wrote both the Liederkreis and Frauenliebe und Leben — Martineau, Persson and Boesch also provide a contrast with music from later in the composer's life. Settings of Goethe, particularly those from Wilhelm Meister, offer intense drama, with both voice and piano in declamatory mode.
