A great promoter of Sibelius’ music, Maestro Järvi marks this evening with the addition of the Karelia Suite to the Orchestre de Paris’ repertoire. An evocation of the story of the Karelia province of Finland, it offers a magnificent sonic atmosphere.

Liszt was a singular musician, a composer who showed the way to total freedom by breaking with traditional structure. His knowledge of the piano was unsurpassed, and his revolutionary Second Concerto was conceived in a single, sweeping, and unforgettable movement.

Järvi will end the concert with Saint‐Saëns’ great Organ Symphony, which heralded the rebirth of the genre in France. The prolific composer and indefatigable traveler left us with a highly original score in which the organ broadens the orchestral sound before exploding into a majestic finale.
