J. S. Bach: Christmas Oratorio at St. Matthäus‐Kirche Berlin
Sobre o Evento
Get in the mood for Christmas one day before Christmas Eve with Bach's Christmas Oratorio in the magnificent St. Matthäus‐Kirche in Berlin.
Johann Sebastian Bach composed his Christmas Oratorio for the Christmas of 1734, and today it is one of his most popular and most frequently performed works. It is not a uniform piece of music composed as a whole, but consists of six cantatas. For each holiday around Christmas, the composer has chosen a cantata for the three Christmas holidays, New Year, Sunday after New Year and the Feast of the Three Kings.
