Die Tote Stadt: Finnish National Opera
Sobre o Evento
The Finnish National Opera presents Erich Wolfgang Korngold's opera, 'Die Tote Stadt' with renowned soloists Klaus Florian Vogt and Camilla Nylund.
Erich Korngold's raging music merges with Kasper Holten's talented direction and Camilla Nylund's heartfelt performance to produce one of the Finnish National Opera's most celebrated productions. Paul is beset by a conflict: he wants to remain faithful to his dead wife Marie, whose memory he cherishes almost obsessively, but he is burning with passion for Marietta , a dancer. Strangely, Marietta is the spitting image of Marie.
Die Tote Stadt (The Dead City) draws on the juxtaposition of feelings of guilt and erotic desire. It is a fascinatingly decadent and dream‐like opera with a great psychological impact.
Performed in German, surtitles in Finnish, Swedish and English.
