'A voyage through time commencing with the beginning of the universe and extending to today': thus describes composer Raphaël Cendo (born 1975) his new work for chorus, ensemble and electronics. Registre des lumières is an ambitious triptych consisting of 'The Time of the Origins', 'The Time of the First Humans', 'The Time of Civilization', and an epilogue.

'This spatial and temporal epic', explains Cendo, take the history of Man as its basis and describes our vision of the world, the symbols of our appearance, and our most important shared points of reference. Dealing with everything from the origins of the cosmos until now, the piece aims to reflect on our place in the universe, our rapport to others, and on that inexorable force that compels us to push back the boundaries of the possible.'
