China Moses & Raphael Lemonnier: Prague Proms
Sobre o Evento
Enjoy an evening with the exceptionally gifted Jazz and R'n'B singer China Moses who performs together with pianist Raphael Lemonnier at the Prague Proms.
Moses is the daughter of the famous Dee Dee Bridgewater and director, Gilbert Moses. Her incredible talent was already clear for all to see at the age of sixteen when she released her single Time (1996) and recorded her first ever video clip.
Following this successful start, she went on to record a further four albums (China, On Tourne en Rond, Good Lovin, This One's For Dinah – in conjunction with Raphael Lemonnier), earning her a glowing reception and securing her a solid spot on the French R&B scene. Since 2008 she has thrown herself into experimenting with a variety of fusions and styles such as rock, funk and hip hop.
Her latest project Crazy Blues was written in honour of the great blues singers such as Mamie Smith, Helen Humes, Lil Green, Ma Rainey, and the stars Esther Phillips, Nina Simone, Janis Joplin, Etta James, Ann Peebles and Donna Summer. China aptly refers to her backing band as Rough Soul.
The Prague Proms is an international music festival that presents music perfectly suited to the summer months: music that refreshes you, no matter the weather. Enjoy jazz concerts, symphony programs and intimate chamber music evenings.
