Buchbinder, Gergiev & Mariinsky‐Orchestra St. Petersburg: Grafenegg Festival

Sobre o Evento

The leading orchestra of Russia, the Mariinsky Orchestra, will perform two grand works from the rich musical repertoire of Russia under the baton of its principal conductor Valery Gergiev. Rudolf Buchbinder will perform Rachmaninov's 'Paganini' Rhapsody. The program also features Shostakovich's Symphony No. 11, which commemorates St. Petersburg's 'Bloody Sunday' in 1905, on which peaceful protesters were murdered in front of the Tsar's palace.

The Grafenegg Festival presents a top‐class program of concerts with renowned orchestras, conductors and international star‐soloists. This year, enjoy a series of concerts including musical journeys to South America, swing music, highlights of the romantic period and unforgettable fireworks. On mild summer evenings, performances are in the open; in poor weather, the Auditorium opens its doors.
