The Moscow Conservatory is one of the most prestigious music academies in the world. Founded in 1866, it is also called the Tchaikovsky Conservatory, for the composer who worked as a professor there at the end of the 19th century. The elegant Great Hall of the Conservatory features a famous 19th century organ and excellent acoustics.
