O conto popular russo de Petrushka, um boneco animado por um sopro de vitalidade e emoções, entrelaça‐se com Siegfried e L'arbre des songes (A Árvore dos Sonhos) de Wagner, o Concerto para Violino e Orquestra de Henri Dutilleux dedicado a Isaac Stern e interpretado pelo talentoso violinista suíço Sebastian Bohren. O concerto de Dutilleux, de 1985, aproxima ainda mais o solista do ambiente orquestral, enquanto Waldweben, de Wagner, evoca a floresta encantada onde Siegfried se refugia no segundo ato da ópera. A profunda experiência de Jac van Steen guiará o público por esta viagem onírica.
