Europa e América. Este programa reúne Martinů e Dvořák, dois compositores que, apesar das circunstâncias, se tornaram cidadãos globais ao deixarem sua terra natal, hoje conhecida como República Tcheca. O programa começa com a Abertura Carnaval, de Dvořák. No final do século XIX, ele atravessou o Atlântico para dirigir o Conservatório de Nova York. A rara e exigente Rapsódia‐Concerto para Viola e Orquestra de Martinu também faz parte do repertório, refletindo sua partida forçada da Europa durante o período sombrio da Segunda Guerra Mundial. Este programa complexo culmina com a Sinfonia Renana de Schumann, sob a batuta de Cornelius Meister, diretor musical geral da Ópera Estatal de Stuttgart desde 2018, apresentando Sarah McElravy na viola, uma artista versátil e habilidosa tanto como violinista quanto como violista.

Orquestra: Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi

Known colloquially as 'La Verdi', Milan's famed symphony orchestra was formed in the early 90s to supplement the city's already‐generous cultural offering. Making its home in Milan's Auditorio, La Verdi features among Europe's most respected and admired symphonic ensembles. Its first Musical Director, Ricardo Chailly, now holds the title of Conductor Laureate, while the Austrian conductor, Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, a fast‐rising star in the orchestral firmament took over the role of Musical Director in 2024, following in the footsteps of several major names in the classical world. La Verdi welcomes a starry roster of soloists and guest conductors over the course of an extensive and varied annual season, and regularly features as guests of honour at important state occasions and international concert engagements.
