Nikolai Tokarev

Solista

was born in Moscow in 1983 from a musician’s family, his father a concert pianist, his mother a cellist. He started his formal education in 1988 at the renowned Gnessin Music School in Moscow which he left with the highest distinction in 2001. From 2004 until 2006, he studied at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. Tokarev pursues his post graduate studies at the Robert‐Schumann Music School in Düsseldorf with Prof. Barbara Szczepanska. As early as 1989, he had given his debut as a 6 year old with a solo recital in Moscow. At the age of 14, he started touring Europe and Japan. In 2000, Tokarev won the „10th Eurovision Grand Prix of Young Musicians“ in Bergen, Norway.
