Hear some of Britain's top artists perform works on the theme of war.

Conductor Stephen Layton brings his professional chamber choir Polyphony and the Britten Sinfonia to the Concertgebouw for three very different works.

Haydn's "Nelson" Mass is also known as the "Mass in the time of War". Shostakovich's Chamber Symphony is an arrangement of his Eighth String Quartet, written on a trip to Dresden, and a reaction to the destruction he saw there.

Arvo Pärt's Berliner Messe weaves ancient chant and renaissance polyphony to create the Estonian composer's signature sound.
