Veteran opera superstar Edita Gruberová sings the role of Queen Elizabeth I as no‐one else can.

Gruberová has been a favourite singer at Munich's Bayerische Staatsoper for 40 years, and the audience shows no signs of wanting her to stop. She returns this year with another signature bel canto role, in Donizetti's opera about love, lust and a death sentence in the English royal court.
