A Venetian master artisan explains the ancient techniques of creating beautiful masks out of papier-mâché. Learn about the traditions of Venetian Carnival and masks that stretch back centuries. Then enjoy hands-on instruction in creating your own mask led by a master. After the class ends, participants get to take their masks home. Or, if you're in Venice around Carnival, then you can wear your mask and join in the celebrations.

Volg de Scuola Grande di San Marco, ook bekend als de "Grote School van Liefdadigheid" (de Kapiteins van het Geluk). Tot slot keren we terug naar het San Marcoplein en bewonderen we het Malibran-theater. We wandelen door de beroemde Mercerie, ooit het kloppende hart van het commerciële leven en tegenwoordig de belangrijkste winkelstraat van Venetië tussen de Rialtobrug en het San Marcoplein. Houd er rekening mee dat dit eerste deel van de tour volledig buiten plaatsvindt en geen toegang tot lokale bezienswaardigheden omvat.
