In dit langverwachte concert kunt u genieten van de welluidende klanken van klassieke muziek, van barok tot romantiek, van Vivaldi, Mascagni, Rossini en anderen, gespeeld op originele tokkelinstrumenten in de kostbare en wereldberoemde Anglicaanse Sint‐Joriskerk in Venetië.
In de prachtige omgeving van de Anglicaanse St. George's Church in Venetië neemt het MandolinVenice Ensemble u mee op een muzikale reis door de geschiedenis van de klassieke Italiaanse muziek, van Vivaldi tot Rossini, vertolkt door de suggestieve klanken van mandolines. Het concert omvat originele stukken voor dit ensemble en transcripties van auteurs die een ideale route uitstippelen om de meest sublieme melodieën te ontdekken die ooit voor dit instrument zijn geschreven, in een ervaring die het hart en de ziel zal raken.

This small ensemble was a real find and a great evening entertainment while we were holidaying in Venice. The group ranges in number from a quartet to an octet and all are consummate musicians playing mandolin, mandolin and guitar. The intimate setting meant that we could follow every instrument withe clarity. The control of dynamics especially at pp gave a wonderful delicacy and the tasteful use of rubato breathed life into the music. The nicely varied repertoire was mostly from the romantic era, where the mandolin attained its truly unique voice. We appreciated the insightful commentary which was also kindly translated into English for us. I took my two children to this concert and was not sure how they would react but both loved it! I was disappointed that more people did not attend this concert since this ensemble really deserves more recognition. In summary we had a wonderful experience and I bought the CD.
