Young Dutch Artists at the Concertgebouw: Mathieu van Bellen
Over het evenement
Encounter a young violinist at the start of a glittering career. Mathieu van Bellen has already achieved great things as both soloist and chamber musician, despite his tender years.
Both strings to the young violinist's bow are on display at the Concertgebouw. Bach's Chaconne is said by no less than Yehudi Menuhin to be "the greatest structure for solo violin that exists", while Strauss' Sonata in E flat Major retains its place in the solo repertoire by its combination of lyricism and technical demands. Completing the program, Brahms' Second Piano Quartet sees Omri & Ori Epstein, van Bellen's Busch Trio colleagues, and revered violist Miguel da Silva, join the young Dutchman in the Recital Hall.
